About Us
The Woodbrook Players’ mission is to share the power and enjoyment of live theater with the greater community and to encourage inclusion in all aspects of theater from the performers to the audience.
Since 2002, the Woodbrook Players has enjoyed sharing live theater through worship, performances and workshops. The Woodbrook Players was started by Sherry Peck and John DePrine as an outlet for church members interested in theater. We first started with scenes, then to one acts and now full length plays. We have performed popular works like A Christmas Carol and original pieces like The Ten Minute Hamlet – The Musical by Susan Gonzalez. This group has grown to include actors, musicians, stage technicians and artists from the greater community. It has made efforts to create an inclusive community where all are welcome to share their talents; and many have. We hope that you will join us!
With the merging of Brown Memorial Woodbrook Presbyterian Church and Govans Presbyterian Church in 2017, the Woodbrook Players had their final production on Charles Street in the spring of 2018. We look forward to bringing you more great shows at our new home at Govans Presbyterian Church on York Road!
